Minor Ailments & Head Lice Service

Pharmacies commissioned to provide a minor ailments service give advice and support on the management of minor ailments, including where necessary, the free supply of medicines, (eligibility criteria applies), to manage the minor condition.

Minor ailments services do not replace OTC purchase of medication. Those customers who usually manage their own minor ailments through self-care and purchase of OTC medication should continue to self-manage and treat their minor ailments as per essential service 6, self-care.

Calderdale
Kirklees (HD1 or HD2 only)
Leeds

Head Lice Services

A standalone Head Lice Service is commissioned in Calderdale and Kirklees by NHS West Yorkshire ICB.

There is no standalone service in Leeds. A separate service, the Leeds Pharmacy Access to Self-care Service (Leeds ASC Service), includes the management of head lice.
