Waste Scheme (Collaborative Medicines Waste Reduction & Repeat Prescription Optimisation Scheme)
The Collaborative Medicines Waste Reduction and Repeat Prescription Optimisation Scheme aims to minimise medicines waste, support patient safety, and optimise prescribing by reducing unnecessary repeat orders. The service is open to all pharmacies dispensing prescriptions for patients registered with GP practices in Leeds or Bradford District and Craven.
Under this scheme, pharmacy teams will identify opportunities to reduce wastage or improve cost-effectiveness and send recommendations to the practice for them to review and action. Please see the service specification below for details of the scheme:
