Final Update – Thank You for Every Step, Share and Donation 🚶‍♀️

Thank You for Every Step, Share and Donation 🚶‍♀️

This week, some of our CPWY team joined committee member James Madan at Currie’s Chemist in Wyke, where we met with Martin House Children’s Hospice who presented us with a cheque for our final January Step Challenge fundraiser, which totalled an incredible £1541.25.

To everyone who took part, donated, shared our posts, or cheered from the side lines, thank you. Your support has turned millions of steps into meaningful care for children, young people and families across Yorkshire. Martin House’s work is extraordinary, and knowing that our collective effort will help them continue providing comfort, respite and support makes this total even more special.

We’re so grateful for every single contribution.

In January 2026, CPWY took on a huge challenge of 3 million steps in support of and to raise funds for Martin House Hospice, a charity providing vital care for children and young people with life‑limiting conditions and their families across Yorkshire.

11 walkers from the CPWY team and committee (Nicola, Lisa, Lauren, Emma, Neelam, Ashley, Adeel, James, Nasrat, Sageer and Zak) stepped every day to hit our target of 3 million over the month.

As January ended, we didn’t just reach our 3 million steps target… we blew straight past it with a collective total of 3,188,649 steps walked!

Well done to our brilliant CPWY walkers. Whether you were power‑walking, dog‑walking, corridor‑pacing, or squeezing in those last 500 steps before bed, you made every single one count. What a team effort to get us past our target. 👏

🩵 A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has donated and cheered us on. Your generosity has helped us raise ÂŁ1541.25. (including Gift Aid) so far for Martin House Children’s Hospice supporting the vital care they provide to children, young people, and families across our region. 🩵

One of our walkers, Lisa Meeks, recently caught up with Beth Brown, Regional Fundraiser for West Yorkshire at Martin House Children’s Hospice. Beth shared some very powerful insights into how Martin House is funded, the vital services they provide for children and families, and gave a real example of the difference that the funds raised so far can make. The video which can be viewed below, is both inspiring and informative! A true showcase of the incredible work Martin House does every day. We’re proud to stand alongside this charity and encourage everyone who can to donate and support them.
