DoS profile updater service restored

Last week, due to a problem with the DoS profile updater, its operation was temporarily suspended. This meant pharmacy contractors could not update their Directory of Services profiles. NHS England and NHS Improvement have worked with NHS Digital to address the issue and the service has now been restored.

Leeds Blood Pressure Wise Service 

Leeds Blood Pressure Wise Service has been commissioned by Leeds City Council to increase the identification of hypertension and atrial fibrillation by offering opportunistic blood pressure screening in community pharmacies. Aims of the service include:
  • To increase the detection and management of hypertension and atrial fibrillation. 
  • To provide easy access to blood pressure monitoring through community pharmacies
  • To develop and pilot a new method of data collection and data sharing using a SystmOne Community Module.
  • To encourage self-management and healthy lifestyles to reduce risks of developing hypertension

The service will be offered to any person over the age of 35 years old that meets the criteria outlined in annex 3 of the service specification (below).
