Dementia Friendly Leeds

Dementia Friendly Leeds is a campaign to raise awareness of dementia and make services more accessible to people living with dementia. The aim is to ensure that people who are living with dementia, and their carers, remain an active part of their city and keep doing the things they enjoy. It is a partnership between Leeds Older People’s Forum, Alzheimer’s Society and Leeds City Council.

The scheme offers support to any organisation, business or individual who wants to work towards being dementia friendly. Organisations can sign up to the Leeds Dementia Action Alliance  and pledge to carry out three practical actions such as enabling staff to attend a Dementia Friends awareness session, making signage clearer or working in partnership with a local memory cafe.

For any further information or queries about these initiatives please contact Sarah Prescott or Jude Woods at Leeds Older People's Forum on 0113 244 1697 or email sarah@opforum.org.uk.
